Grants: What We Do
For the past twenty five years, WEF has funded grants to educators in the Wellesley Public Schools System to explore new techniques and implement
innovative programs that result in richer and deeper learning experiences for students.
- More than $140,000 invested in the 2011-2012 school year
- Over $1.25 million has been awarded in grants and assistance in the past 10 years
Twice a year (fall and spring), educators and administrators submit grant requests to the WEF Grants Review Committee. The Grant Review Committee consists of
five members from the WEF Board, and five educators, including the Director of Curriculum and Director of Technology. Taking into consideration input received
after thorough analysis and discussion by four grant subcommittees, the WEF Grant Review Committee meets to make the final decision on which grants to fund.
WEF has approved grants for new technology in the Wellesley Public Schools. WEF has also awarded monies for professional development programs for teachers
and staff and has supported new, creative programs and initiatives that enhance the school curriculum. A complete description of approved grants can be found in
the WEF's Impact section
